Kochi: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has strongly refuted statements made by H.D. Deve Gowda, the JD(S) supremo, suggesting that the CPI(M) leader supported a potential alliance between JD(S) and BJP in Karnataka. Vijayan expressed profound astonishment at these claims, denouncing them as baseless and delusional.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Pinarayi Vijayan stated, "I am absolutely astonished by H.D. Deve Gowda's recent statement! The mere notion that I would even entertain the idea of supporting a JD(S)-BJP alliance is nothing short of a delusional fantasy. It is utterly disgraceful for a seasoned politician like Deve Gowda to make such unfounded lies."

Vijayan further emphasized that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has consistently opposed the Sangh Parivar and has remained unwavering in its stance against right-wing extremism. There is no room for ambiguity in the party's resolute opposition to such ideologies.

Previously, Deve Gowda had stated, "In Kerala, we are part of the government and our MLA is a minister there. These units understood the situation that made us go with the BJP and supported our move." He also claimed that Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had given his full approval for a potential JD(S)-BJP alliance in Karnataka.

This exchange between political leaders has resulted in a significant political controversy in Kerala, with strong statements from both sides.
