New Delhi: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on today, March 24 met Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at his residence in New Delhi. The development of Kerala and the country was discussed in the meeting. The Chief Minister's office also said that he appreciated Kerala's high social development index

Vijayan inaugurated the Women Safety Expo on Thursday in Thiruvananthapuram, saying that certain people are spreading misleading information about women's safety around the state and that promoting such behaviour is not a good habit.

When officially opening the Expo, CM Vijayan remarked, "False campaigns against women's safety in Kerala are also on the rise amid the rise in attacks against women. There are numerous laws in place here that can be utilised efficiently.

The public should employ security and legislation properly when isisue arise, CM continued. Several people have recently begun circulating misleading information about Kerala's safety for women based on isolated events. It's not a good habit to promote things that are false.

CM Vijayan added that in order to assure their economic and social security, women should take advantage of government initiatives and programmes. He said that various programmes are in place to stop domestic abuse, outlaw dowry, and guarantee safe workplaces. Only then, he said, will gender justice and equality be achieved.

Women don't have to put up with or tolerate violence against them, he said. They ought to strive to use the available legal remedies and take care of the problems in their immediate environment.

The Chief Minister also exhorted women to take advantage of the chance presented by such Expos to improve their understanding of their rights.

In addition to these, he said, "the police have also put in place a number of measures, including as the Aparajita helpline, women's support desks in every police station, Pink police, cyber police stations, and women's self-defense training."
