Kerala election: Denied seat, women state president resigns

New Delhi: Hours after the Bjp released its list of candidates for the Kerala Assembly elections on Sunday, the Congress has also released a list of 86 candidates. Former CM Oommen Chandy will contest from Puthuppally to MP Muraleedharan from Nemom and Ramesh Chennithala Haripad from the assembly constituency. However, the Congress women's state president has resigned from his post for not getting the ticket.

According to media reports, Kerala Congress President Mullappally Ramachandran said that we are announcing the names of 86 candidates for the Kerala assembly elections today. KSU State President K Abhijit Kozhikode, VT Balram Thatharla, Palakkad to Shafi Parambil, and Vadakkencherry to Anil Akkara have been fielded. Former Kerala CM Oommen Chandy will contest from Puthupalli, leader of the opposition from Haripad Ramesh Chennithala, Thrissur to Padmaja Venugopal and VD Sathasan from Parvur have been fielded.

However, in the absence of tickets, Congress has begun to revolt. Congress Kerala women's chief Lathika Subhash has been angered by the party's not giving tickets and shaving her head hair. After the party issued the ticket, Latika took a hair turn outside the party office in Thiruvananthapuram. He, however, said that I have resigned from all my posts, but no other party is going to join.
