Due to the horrific floods in Kerala, the poor condition is gradually improving. Due to the decrease in rainfall in the rains on Friday and Saturday, the state government has removed the red alert from all the 14 districts. This is the first time since August 9 when the red alert has been removed. Due to the decrease in rainfall, the situation of the relief of relief from the central and state government has improved the situation. Although the Indian Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in the districts of Ernakulam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha. 

Things are becoming disastrous due to heavy rains and floods in Kerala. According to the State Disaster Management Control Room, 357 people have lost their lives due to the rains since August 8. The state is passing through the worst flood after almost 100 years, more than 3.15 lakh people have been taken to relief camps. Due to torrential rains, 22 people died in floods in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Idukki, Pathanamthitta and Chengannur districts on Saturday (August 18).

According to the forecast issued by the Indian Meteorological Department on Saturday, there is the possibility of torrential rains in different parts of the state. Rescue work continues in the worst affected Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Thrissur. Officials have withdrawn the red alert issued in these three districts and the Meteorological Department of India (IMD) has said in its forecast Sunday that there were normal rains in some districts of the state. The most affected places where people have been trapped without food or water for the last three days, many areas of Chengannur, Pandalam, Tiruvalla and Pathanamthitta districts are included in Alunaa, Angamali and Paravur in Ernakulam. The Government schools have been converted to relief camps for in Chengannur and a total of 115 people have taken shelter at the camp.
