Kerala Governor P. Sathasivam has asked to pay the fine of the penalty imposed on him for violating the speed limit of his government vehicle two months before his office, presenting an example among the common people. Raj Bhavan's official said that former Chief Justice of India Sathasivam was not riding his car Mercedes Benz at that time. Despite this, he ordered to pay the fine.

According to sources in Raj Bhawan, that vehicle was found on April 7 on the Vellayambalam-Kodiyar route in a busy area over the fixed speed limit. The camera caught detected the car and the violation of the speed limit was caught by the camera. The Department of Motor Vehicles recently sent an invoice to Raj Bhavan. Without any hesitation, the governor has asked the employees of his office to send the amount of fine to 400 rupees to the MVD, following the rule.

An official of Raj Bhawan told that "The governor was not in the car when the car violated the rule. This incident took place when the car was being taken to refuel. The Governor's Secretary paid the amount of the fine." Describing this move of the Governor as a positive initiative, Padmakumar of the State Transport Commissioner said that this will encourage the people of the state to follow the rules.
