Kerala High Court implements new guidelines in state till 31 July

Kochi: The Kerala High Court restricted events, especially protests and processions, in-state till 31 July. Only those programs will get permission which will be as per the guidelines issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) last month.

A petition to ban public protests and large gatherings in violation of Corona rules in the state are filed in High Court thus, ordered the state government, to restrict the procession and protest preventive measures would be considered. In an order issued, Chief Justice S. Manikumar and Justice Shaji P. Chali have said that the Kerala Chief Secretary and the State Police Chief should ensure that no political party breaks the guidelines and other orders.

The court has ordered political parties to act according to the situation and protect themselves from being involved in any incident if they break the guidelines issued by NDMA. Apart from this, a lawyer alleged in the petition that political parties and their allied organizations are organizing protests in Kerala breaking the applicable guidelines implemented in the prevention of corona infection.
