Kochi: Incidents of religious fanaticism, extremism and love jihad are on the rise in Kerala and there is a lot of debate in the state. In the same vein, the ruling Vijayan government has issued a warning fearing that girls studying in professional colleges will be implicated in the trap of communalism and terrorism.

The Marxist Communist Party (CPIM), which has always turned a blind eye to incidents like love jihad, has advised its workers to be vigilant. The party has also issued an internal note in this regard. The note, titled "Minority Communalism", has issued strict instructions that these things should be taken seriously that there is talk of supporting terrorist organizations like the Taliban in the state. The party said, "Efforts are being made to woo youth with communal and extremist ideologies. Efforts are being made to brainwash educated girls in Peswar colleges. Both the Marxist Students' Union and the Youth Organizations should pay special attention to this issue.''

The CPIM note talks about the rise of Christian radicalization in Kerala. It says that although Christians are not usually involved in communal ideologies, radicalization has also increased in this community in recent times and this issue needs to be taken seriously. At the same time, the CPIM has alleged that Christians in the state are being deliberately taken against Muslims as part of a conspiracy. This will help the majority communalism in the State to flourish.
