Kerala reports one lakh active corona cases, health secretary expresses concern

Kochi: Cases of coronavirus infection that come every day in Kerala are now scary. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan made a statement on the issue on Thursday saying that while the second wave of the corona is weakening across the country, Kerala has added to the woes of all. 46,000 cases have been registered in the country in the last 24 hours. While 58 percent of these cases are from Kerala alone.

Rajesh Bhushan said that based on the information received on August 25, there are 41 districts in the country where there are 100 cases of the corona. There are 31 states with less than ten thousand active cases. There are four states with active cases between 10,000 and 1 lakh and Kerala alone with more than one lakh patients under treatment.  Rajesh Bhushan further said that 8million people have been vaccinated against corona for the last 24 hours. We're still among the second wave of the corona. The epidemic is not yet completely over.

He said corona cases are on the rise in every festival, and September and October are also festive. In that case, we have to be alert. The DG, ICMR said that in view of the current situation, masks are very important, mass gatherings should be reduced. The Central Government will hold a meeting today on the rising corona cases in Maharashtra in Kerala. The Home Secretary, Health Secretary will hold a virtual meeting with the Chief Secretaries of Kerala and Maharashtra today.
