Akshay Kumar’s war- drama Kesari is performing well at the BO. The film which is based on Battle of Saragarhi is having a spectacular run at the box-office. The war drama remained strong on its second Monday and collected Rs 3.27 crore. After a 12-day run in cinemas, its total collection stands at Rs 128.28 crore.

Movie critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, on his Twitter account, shared the latest collection of the film. His tweet read, “#Kesari is strong on [second] Mon... North circuits continue to lead, while other circuits are steady... Should collect ₹ 137 cr [+/-] by [second] Thu... [Week 2] Fri 4.45 cr, Sat 6.45 cr, Sun 8.25 cr, Mon 3.27 cr. Total: ₹ 128.28 cr. India biz.” With this collection, the film is now almost Rs 6 crore shy of beating the 2017 film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (Rs 134.22 crore) to become Akshay’s highest-grossing film ever.

Kesari is based on the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi. Touted as the bravest battle ever fought, the military combat saw 21 Sikhs of the British Indian contingent standing against an army of 10,000 Afghan invaders. The battle had ended with all the Sikhs laying down their lives but not before they killed 900 soldiers of the enemy Kesari, co-starring Parineeti Chopra, is directed by Anurag Singh,
