Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adrash took to Twitter and shared the latest box offfice collection of the film. He Tweeted,”#Kesari fares better than new releases... North circuits continue to drive the biz... Has to maintain a strong grip on [second] Sat and Sun... [Week 2] Fri 4.45 cr. Total: ₹ 110.31 cr. India biz.” Kesari has become another 100-crore film for Akshay Kumar. So far, he has delivered hits like Gold, Rustom, Airlift, all movies with a patriotic theme.

Junglee box office collection day: Vidyut Jammwal's film makes a decent start

The film is based on the Battle of Saragarhi which happened in 1897 in the Indo- Afghan border. He plays the part of Havildar Ishar Singh who led the 36th Sikh regiment against the marauding tribe of 10,000 Orakzai and Afridi soldiers. Parineeti Chopra plays his leading lady. The song Mitti sung by B Praak has become a huge hit.  It also stars Mir Sarwar, Vansh Bhardwaj, Jaspreet Singh, Vivek Saini and Vikram Kochhar in supporting roles.
