In the series of electing Karnataka assembly leaders, today, KG Bopaiah has appointed as pro-tem speaker. According to the reports, he has been appointed as a speaker ever since 2008 by the Governor.

In 2008, Bopaiah was 10 years younger than today. Meanwhile, Congress is raising hoax objections over Bopaiah's appointment. According to Human Resource minister Prakash Javadekar, he said that KG Bopaiah's appointment has been done as per the rules and regulations of the government.

The announcement has been made by Governor Vajubhai Vale who is also a three-time MLA. Earlier, there were reports that Congress may move the SC against the appointment of BJP MLA Bopaiah as a pro-tem speaker of Karnataka Assembly.

Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah said that "All of are together. We have an understanding. Despite this being reality, despite them not asking for 15 days, the governor has given them 15 days to prove majority. What inference could one draw?"

Worth mentioning here B.S. Yeddyurappa, who took oath as the 23rd Chief Minister of Karnataka on Thursday, has to prove his majority in the state assembly on Saturday at 4 pm, the Supreme Court ruled earlier today.
