Ujjain: City?s Drupad Dance Academy dancers win big at All India Dance and Music Festival ?Khanak Festival? held at Vikram Kirti Mandir  Auditorium, Ujjain on 1st and 2nd February. The festival was organized by Nritya Mudra Kathak Kendra Pune and Prayas entertainment. Ashish Pillai was honored with Kala Arpan Guru Samman and Academy?s Purva Pande performed as guest performer in the festival and was awarded with Kala Vibhuti award. Ashish Pillai said the offline events are slowly starting up much to the relief of dancers. Since Lockdown the performance were being held digitally, Khanak Festival was organized keeping in mind with all safety precautions. Young dancers from the academy were highly elated to perform on stage in front of live audience. Academy Director informed that the performers were trained virtually solo dances and for group offline training were held. The efforts of the students and parents were commendable in managing offline classes.

First prize: Bharatnatyam Group, Bharatnatyam Junior Solo(Shivani Sudarshan), Bharatnatyam Senior solo(Anjali Verma), Semiclassical Junior (Siya Gupta), Kathak Duet (Ridhima Dubey and Muskan Ahuja), Semiclassical trio (Ishani Krishnan, Mohi Tripathi, Siya Gupta), Semiclassical Junior solo(Siya Gupta)

Second prize: Kathak Group, Bharatnatyam Junior Solo(Ishani Krishnan, Amrita Rajan), Kathak senior Solo(Purvi Chaturvedi), Bharatnatyam Junior Duet (Amrita and Gopika), Semiclassical duet(Osmi Gupta and Bhumika Pawar), Folk Junior solo(Bhumika Pawar), Semiclassical Solo(Oshin Gangrade)

Third prize: Bharatnatyam Junior solo (Mohi Tripathi), Kathak Senior solo(Riya Kale), Bharatnatyam Open solo(P syamala), Semiclassical Junior solo (Mahi Parihar, Yukti Upadhyay), Semiclassical Senior Solo (Sakshi Sangle), Cinematic open solo(Bharti Narkhede).
