After Maruti Suzuki cars, another automaker in India is reportedly increasing of its for its cars in India: Kia Motors India. While the South Korean automaker doesn't seem to have confirmed this development yet, but word has it that the automaker will implement quite the price hike.

This hike in the price may increase in Kia cars' prices in India significantly.  In fact, come January 2021, Kia Sonet's prices too will be increased. The reason behind the increase in the price may be same as that of Maruti Suzuki.  Kia Motors India's decision too has been chalked up to an increase in input costs. That is pretty much the gist of it.

The offering of Kia motors that may be affected includes Kia Seltos and Kia Sonet, which was launched in India a few months ago -- in September, to be precise. Kia Sonet' price in India starts at ₹6.71 lakh for the entry-level HTE variant with the 1.2-litre petrol engine, whereas the Kia Sonet Turbo's price starts at ₹9.49 lakh. Finally, Sonet diesel's price in India begins at ₹8.05 lakh. Kia had said at the time of the launch these prices are introductory, i.e. were intended to be increased eventually.  However, Kia Carnival's price in India is expected to remain unchanged.
