With the launch of the third shift at its Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh, Kia India says it has increased production to its maximum capacity of 3 lakh units per year. In August of this year, Kia India began mass production at the plant. According to the corporation, it just passed 5 lakh cumulative shipments from the Anantapur factory, including 4 lakh domestic sales and 1 lakh exports.

In a statement, Kia India Managing Director and CEO Tae-Jin Park stated, "We have engaged more staff and aligned resources to minimise the waiting period on Kia cars and assist us cater to the increasing demand in domestic and international markets."

"India is a crucial market for Kia globally," he added, adding that "all of our vehicles have gotten an incredible response here." Since September 2019, the firm has sent Seltos to more than 91 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, Mexico, and Asia Pacific, according to Kia India. The South Korean automaker, which is part of the Hyundai group, had promised a USD 1.1 billion investment in the plant.
