In the semi-finals of the men's singles event of the Australian Open Super Series today at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre, the Indonesia Open champion Srikanth Kidambi will have a match with China's Shi Yuqi.
He had defeated B. Sai Praneeth by 25-23, 21-17 in a thrilling all-Indian last-eight clash that lasted 45 minutes.
Last Sunday, the Indian shuttler had come out with a spectacular performance as he defeated unseeded Kazumasa Sakai of Japan in straight games to win the men's singles title of the Indonesia Super Series Premier badminton tournament in Jakarta.
