New Delhi: Oswal Books, an Agra-based publication that publishes books for the preparation of many prestigious examinations of the country, has been embroiled in controversy. The controversy has arisen over a question in the exam paper published by the publication for the mock test of CLAT exam. In this question Oswal Books has made a cunning attempt to portray Brahmins as rapists. Along with this, in the mock test paper of the same CLAT exam, temples have been described as the place of rape. However, when the controversy escalated, Oswal Books has apologized on 16 June 2022 (Thursday). But still the demand for action against this publication is increasing.
Supreme Court lawyer Shashank Shekhar Jha has shared this controversial paper on social media. In this, in question number 84, it is written that, 'Anita is an 8 year old girl. One day she was playing in the street. Meanwhile, a Brahmin Pandit kidnapped the girl and took her to the deserted temple and raped her. The girl was found unconscious and in a serious condition after two days due to excessive bleeding. Who will claim compensation for Anita?' Advocate Shashank Shekhar Jha has also tagged the Agra Police in his complaint. He has demanded to register an FIR against the person who prepared it, accusing it of hurting the sentiments of the Brahmin community with the words written in this paper. At the same time, on the demand of FIR, the Agra Police has asked to contact the concerned police station with full information.
