Mumbai, Lives of three people have been saved by a 55 year old man from Khar, who lived a good part of his life serving society, in his death on July 1.

On June 30, a man, who was suffering from hypertension, was admitted to the P.D. Hinduja Hospital with complaints of of vomiting and dizziness.

Dr. Sucheta Desai, transplant coordinator at Hinduja Hospital said, “His blocked blood vessels led to diffuse cerebral oedema”. 

He was declared brain dead on July 1 and his organs were donated on July 2.

His family too agreed to donate his organs after counselling, added Dr. Desai.

According to officials of the Zonal Transplant Coordination Committee, his liver was donated to Global Hospital and was transplanted into a 60-year-old man.

One kidney was kept by the Hinduja hospitaland the second kidney was handed over to Global Hospital where it was transplanted into a 53-year-old man.
