The Kika Women's Football League will start from February 2 next month and will run till March 8. The league will be played every Sunday at New Delhi's Consistent Football Ground. 6 teams are participating in the league and each team will comprise around 13 to 14 players. The league matches will be of 50 minutes and will be played in 7 x 7 format. Women's football, an initiative launched by Kika, has recently been praised worldwide including India. There is a need to host women's soccer leagues in cities like Bengaluru and Mumbai and give a platform to these amateur players in Delhi. The league gives women a chance to learn a new sport.
