Chennai: Kinetic Green Energy Power Solutions Ltd will introduce the E-Luna e-bike and increase production with a Rs 100 billion plant. For those who are unaware, the country's first moped was introduced by the Pune-based Kinetic firm a few decades ago, and its catchphrase was "Chal Meri Luna."

Sulajja Firodia Motwani, the founder and CEO of Kinetic Green Energy Power Solutions, announced that the company will debut the E Luna, a step-through bike, in a few months.  She claimed that the 200 billion rupee corporation is establishing an electric plant for 100 billion rupees.

Maharashtra has a two-wheeler and golf cart factory. She said, the new plant would initially produce 3,000 gold carts annually and 25,000 electric scooters per month.

In addition to introducing the company's latest electric scooter, the Zing High Speed Scooter (or "Zing HSS"), on Tuesday, Motwani also announced the arrival of a second fast model, the Kinetic Green Flex.

When referring to the E Luna, Motwani said: "The E-commerce market will be the target audience. It will have two battery options with a range of 80 km and 120 km, respectively, and a top speed of 50 kmph. There will be several useful features, including carry platforms for multiple uses, digital clusters, and others." She claims that Kinetic Green is aiming for a revenue of Rs 800 crore this fiscal year by growing its product line and distribution network.

"Our sales are increasing quickly even though the industry is experiencing an inflection point. No one of our models was a part of the battery fire incident. About 75,000 electric two- and three-wheelers have been sold to date "said Motwani.

Over 30,000 scooters have been sold by Kinetic Green since the company introduced two electric scooter models in 2021.  She claimed that, with the exception of battery cells, the majority of essential components are sourced from group firms and locally.

She siad, there will be a rise in volumes and a decline in component prices as customers realise the benefits and cost savings of electric vehicles. When that occurs, Motwani predicted that subsidies won't be the only source of energy for electric vehicles.

Regarding the brand-new Zing HSS model, she stated that it has a 3.4 KwH sophisticated lithium-ion battery that offers a 125 km range on a single charge.

The vehicle is available at Rs 85,000 ex-showroom, FAME subsidy included.
