This was part of the Pongal celebrations, in which Kiran Bedi also reached.

Let us tell you that Pongal is also a festival to celebrate the joy of the new crop and this festival lasting 4 days has started from 'Bhogi Pongal' on 14 January and was the main festival on 15 January i.e. Wednesday. Today Mattu Pongal is going to be celebrated on 16 January and Katya Pongal on 17 January.
