New Delhi: Congress Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi has been accused of insulting the country's judiciary while speaking in the ongoing budget session of Parliament. He said the judiciary, the Election Commission and Pegasus – these are the means that PM Narendra Modi's government used to suppress the voice of the people. To which, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju has condemned Rahul's statement. He said that not only as the law minister of the country but also as an ordinary Indian citizen, he condemns Rahul Gandhi's words about the judiciary and the EC.

Rijiju said the judiciary and the Election Commission are important institutions of our democracy. He said Rahul Gandhi should apologise to the judiciary and the EC for his statement. At the same time, Rahul Gandhi also tried to corner the Modi government on the issue of China and Pakistan, after which Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar apprised him of the facts. Jaishankar said that, in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi has alleged that the central government has brought China and Pakistan closer. Perhaps, he needs to read the history text in order. ''In 1963, Pakistan illegally surrendered the Shakhsgam Valley to China. At the same time, the Karakoram Highway was constructed by China in the 1970s through 'Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).' Since then, these two countries had also formed an alliance in the nuclear field.''

S Jaishankar reminded Rahul Gandhi of how the 'China-Pakistan Economic Corridor' started in 2013. At that time, there was a UPA-II government at the Centre under the leadership of Manmohan Singh. He asked Rahul Gandhi that you ask yourself the question of whether China and Pakistan were far away from each other at that time. At the same time, Rahul Gandhi also alleged that India could not bring even a foreign guest on this Republic Day. To which S Jaishankar replied that the five Presidents of central Asian countries who were to come had joined India in a virtual summit on January 27. Jaishankar asked whether Rahul Gandhi missed this too?
