KJ Alphons says 'Eat beef in your country and then come to India'

While addressing the 33rd annual convention of the Indian Association of Tour Operators in Bhubaneswar. The newly elected Union minister K J Alphons has commented that "foreign tourists were free to eat beef in their own countries than come to India”, the reason behind the statement of newly elected Union Minister is on cow vigilantism and restriction on beef consumption in several states that had affected India’s hospitality sector.

The decision that was made yesterday on the cow vigilantism by the SC that every district should allot an officer in protecting with cow vigilantism.  On the matter of ‘beef consumption’ earlier  in Kerela Alphons said: “ he cannot take any decision regarding consumption of beef because he is not the food minister Moreover beef consumption impacting tourists in a cock and bull story.”

At the annual convention, Alphons spoke about boosting the tourism sector. He also informed that new ideas have been seeking to promote tourism across India. Alphons Kannanthanam was earlier appointed as the minister of state for Tourism in Prime Minister Modi’s team.

According to the reports, cow slaughter is banned in 21 states and beef consumption ban in Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh with other states too.
