New Delhi: Big news is coming out for the fans of Team India opener KL Rahul. Rahul has started batting practise at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) ahead of the Asia Cup 2022 to be held in late August. Let us know that recently Rahul underwent hernia surgery in Germany and due to this, he could not be a part of the team on the home series against South Africa and then on the tour of England.
Rahul was injured on the eve of the first T20 against South Africa in June. Due to this, Rahul will also be able to play in the upcoming series against the West Indies. However, it is expected that Rahul can be fully fit ahead of the Asia Cup. After coming back from Germany, Rahul started his practice at the NCA. On Wednesday, he practised lightly at the net. Some pictures from his practice are fast going viral on social media. In these pictures, he was seen wearing shorts in the nets and defending the ball.
During this time, Rahul wore only a pad on his left leg. In another picture, Rahul was seen having a discussion with the coaching staff. The 32-year-old has so far played 42 Tests, 42 ODIs and 56 T20 Internationals for India. Rahul is currently under the supervision of Nitin Patel at the NCA, who is the chairman of the NCA Sports Science team. The former physio of the Indian team has recently taken over the reins of the newly established Sports Science Wing to accelerate the recovery of players.
