Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has won the Kolkata Municipal Corporation elections (KMC Election). TMC supremo and CM Mamata Banerjee then held a meeting with 134 winning councillors at the Maharashtra residence. According to municipal sources, the newly elected councillors will be sworn in on December 27, the mayor's official election and swearing-in ceremony on December 28.

TMC state president Subrata Bakshi has said that it has been decided to make Mala Rai the chairperson of kolkata municipal corporation. Firhad Hakim has been appointed as the party leader (Mayor) of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Atthesame Ghosh will be the deputy mayor. CM Banerjee has said, 'This is not a victory for TMC. This is the victory of mother, clay, manush. This victory has been achieved with the support of all people. The way we've worked before. They will work in the same way.'

Mamata Banerjee said the election was a celebration of the republic and as much as she would win. Even after false condemnation, it has won. The more you win, the more humble you have to be. There is no place for ego in TMC. People have to work together. the TMC supremo said, 'After six months the functions of kolkata municipal corporation will be reviewed. There will be no delay in taking action if not working. The thing has to be reduced and the work has to be done more.'
