PM Narendra Modi has ordered the lockdown till 15 April in the country. Along with the introduction of the lockdown, some of Doordarshan's programs in the 80s and 90s are being broadcast again on social media. Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana and BR Chopra's Mahabharata's name have been at the top in this list. When the serial 'Mahabharata' based on the Kauravas, the Pandavas' saga started in 1988, its director BR Chopra might not have been aware that a history will be made in the coming days. It is a big thing that before that Ramanand Sagar produced 'Ramayana' also got immense success on Doordarshan.

Yudhishthira was played by Gajendra Chauhan in the Mahabharata. Gajendra became a favorite of everyone with this character. While talking to the BBC about this, Gajendra had said, 'Mahabharata had such a profound impact on my career that my real image of Gajendra Chauhan was suppressed. Wherever I go people used to call me by the name Yudhishthira. People had only heard this saga before.' Gajendra, while narrating another anecdote about this, had said, "Once, Arjun and I (Arjun in the Mahabharata) were gone to eat non-veg at a restaurant in Delhi. When we started paying money after eating there, the restaurant manager refused to take money with folded hands and said, "For the first time, God came to my hotel to eat meat. How can I take money from them."

After this, talking about another anecdote, Gajendra said, "Once a woman met me in an airplane and said," I want to slap you. How dare you put Draupadi at stake. " Gajendra says that after the Mahabharata is over, everyone wants to see him in an ideal character and with this the struggle of his life started. Gajendra further said, 'The producers were in a dilemma as to how to role me. After playing the role of Yudhishthira, everyone wanted to see me in the same ideal role, but every role could not be like that, so I started having problems. I again thought that I would be typecast, so I moved myself and started accepting roles.
