Hollywood projects ave all commenced after the pandemic. Succession star Sarah Snook has grabbed the main role in big screen Jane Austen adaptation Persuasion. The news about the cast arrives via a leading entertainment daily, who confirmed that Snook will play the role of Anne Elliot – a woman who "many years after refusing the proposal of young naval officer Frederick Wentworth, finds herself navigating the waters of English society when Wentworth returns from war a wealthy and decorated captain". Pondering over this missed opportunity, Anne faces regret and possibly even unanswered love.

Following her breakout turn as Shiv Roy in HBO's aforementioned drama-comedy, Snook is establishing herself as an impressive cinematic portfolio. Just this month, her latest project Pieces of a Woman (co-starring Vanessa Kirby, Shia LaBeouf and Ellen Burstyn) earned critical praise at the Venice Film Festival and Netflix will stream it internationally. Meanwhile, Succession's third season has been straightly hit by the coronavirus pandemic, leaving its production and release date in limbo for the time being.

Matthew Macfadyen, who plays Shiv's partner Tom Wambsgans, shared an update on season three in July. "They're hoping to start in the autumn, but I know that a lot of shows are sort of sliding to January. I think it changes week to week – or day to day, really. Restrictions are put in place and then removed, so there are things that you can do and then you can't do," he told a leading entertainment daily. "The producers have to make really difficult decisions about whether to start or not, and whether they'll be screwed up halfway down the shoot if something else happens," he further added.
