When the Hindustan-Pakistan partition took place in 1947, Dharampal Gulati chose India and started living in a refugee camp in Amritsar. Later, his family moved to Delhi.

Started business from Karol Bagh: As soon as the situation improved, he moved to Delhi and started his first store in Karol Bagh. He founded his company in 1959, after which the business continued to spread not only in the country but all over the world. Mahasaya Gulati then became a distributor and exporter of spices around the world. MDH now has 15 factories that supply products to more than 1,000 dealers across the country. In today's era, the company makes more than 60 products and supplies them to more than 100 countries.

Spread all over the world, MDH exports spices to many parts of the world including countries like UK, Europe, United Arab Emirates and Canada.
