Panchakshari Shiva Mantra

Meaning:

This is the most popular Rudra mantra chanted from times immemorial. Made of five syllables Om, Na, Ma, Shi, Va, and Ya, this mantra represents the five elements. The literal translation of this mantra is “I bow down to Lord Shiva”.

Powerful Rudra mantra

"Om Namo Bhagavate Rudraya"

Meaning:

This is one of the most powerful and simplest Rudra mantras used widely for holy chants, worship and meditation. It praises Lord Rudra and prays him to bless the individual.

Shiv Gayatri mantra

"Om Tatpurushaya Vidmahe Maha Devaya Dheemahi Tannoh Rudrah Prachodayat"

Meaning:

Shiv Dhyana mantra

“Karacharankritam Vaa Kaayjam Karmjam Vaa

Shravannayanjam Vaa Maanasam Vaa Aparadham

Vihitam Avihitam Vaa Sarvameta Kshamasva

Jay Jay Karunaabdhe Shree Mahadev Shambho”

Meaning:

Oh merciful Lord Mahadev, kindly forgive me for the sins committed through my hands and feet, body and through actions. Pardon the sins committed through the ears, eyes and mind, knowingly or unknowingly.

Mahamrityunjaya mantra

“Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushti Vardhanam

Urvarukamiva Bandhanath Mrityormukshiya Mamritat”

Meaning:

This is the ultimate mantra to escape the fear of death. The mantra prays Lord Shiva and says, “Oh the three-eyed Lord, you are the master of the universe and filled with a divine fragrance. You are the one who distributes nourishment to all beings. As the ripe cucumber is released automatically from its mother plant, relieve me from the fear of death and lead me to immortality. Chanting Mrityunjaya mantra can help overcome all fears and confusions and give clarity of mind. It promotes health and happiness.
