Lok Adalat is a special type of court, which is organized to settle petty disputes and cases. This also includes traffic challans. However, it is not an opportunity for forgiveness; rather, the fine is reduced or the case is settled on the basis of compromise.

National Lok Adalat 14 September 2024
This time the National Lok Adalat was set up on 14 September 2024. If you have long pending traffic challans, then this is a good opportunity to settle them. Keep in mind that the district in which your challan has been issued, it will be settled in the Lok Adalat of the same district. If you miss this chance, then you will have to pay the challan through virtual court or other options.

Whose traffic challans can be waived off in Lok Adalat?:  Minor violation cases: If you have committed minor violation of traffic rules, like not wearing a seat belt, not wearing a helmet, or jumping a red light, such challans can be settled in Lok Adalat.

Challan for non-serious offence: If the challan is related to general traffic rule violations and does not involve any serious offence or accident, then the chances of settlement of the challan are higher.
