Lucknow:  The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh is ensuring water supply through 'Drinking Water to Every House' to thousands of villages in seven districts of Bundelkhand and two districts of Vindhyachal, considered dry in the state, through Namami Gange and rural water supply department. The government's effort is to ensure a clean water supply through taps in these areas. So far, 59,202 households have been provided with clean water from the 'Har Ghar Nal' scheme, which has benefited about 2,36,808 people.

More than 1,02,445 households are being supplied with water from this retrofitting scheme and more than 4,09,780 people have benefited from it. The state government has completed water supply works in more than 60,000 villages under the scheme. More than 1,037 households in Jhansi have been given water connections. Water connections have been provided in 5,414 households in Lalitpur, 5,203 in Jalaun, 5,779 in Hamirpur, 9,658 in Banda, 2,902 in Chitrakoot and 11,279 in Mahoba. With this, the government is in the process of providing household water connections to more than 17,930 houses in Mirzapur and 3,21,403 houses in Sonbhadra.

In nine districts of Bundelkhand and Vindhyachal, old schemes have been completed in a time-bound manner by the officers of Namami Gange and the Rural Water Supply Department. Of the 62 retrofitting schemes in Mirzapur, around 59 have been completed and over 24,150 households have got clean drinking water. In Sonbhadra, more than 10,974 households have been given water connections. A total of 9,156 families have benefited in Jalaun, 20,969 in Jhansi, 1,450 in Lalitpur and over 11,966 in Mahoba. More than 10,554 households in Hamirpur, 835 in Chitrakoot and 12,391 in Banda have been given water connections. Through the two ongoing schemes in Bundelkhand, water supply connections have been provided to 1,189 households in Jalaun, 2,400 in Jhansi, 5,184 in Lalitpur and more than 5,062 in Mahoba. Water connections have also been provided to 1,686 families in Hamirpur, 1,219 in Chitrakoot and 4,596 in Banda.
