Lakata: West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee is contesting the upcoming Bhowanipore by-election. The BJP has fielded Priyanka Tibrewal in front of Banerjee in the September 30 polls. Mamata Banerjee filed her nomination papers from Bhowanipore the previous day. According to Mamata Banerjee's affidavit, she has only Rs 69,255 as cash.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee had filed the affidavit ahead of the Nandigram assembly elections. In it, he has shown a deposit of Rs. 12,02,356 in one of his bank accounts. With this, the total bank balance is shown as Rs. 13,53,356. Mamata Banerjee has Rs 18,490 as a national saving certificate. On the other hand, when it comes to jewellery, there is a piece of 9-gram jewellery priced at Rs 43,837 in the market.

Tell you that Mamata Banerjee had won the Nandigram seat in the West Bengal assembly elections, after which she was required to reach the assembly within six months. Mamata Banerjee was defeated in a close contest by her old colleague Shubhendu Adhikari in the results of the May 2 Bengal assembly elections. She is then contesting on behalf of TMC in the by-election to be held in Bhowanipore this time.
