World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) is celebrated every year on this day i.e. September 10 to create awareness about ways to prevent suicide. Before it's too late, the goal is to shed light on issues, that too in the hope of reaching out to those who are struggling. In the recent past, many people have lost their jobs, lost their dear ones and loneliness in the pandemic has made people anxious, depressed and susceptible. Due to this, many people have stood on this wrong path i.e. suicide. The best way to prevent suicide is to recognize the warning signs and respond to such a crisis.

History of World Suicide Prevention Day: Let us know that this day was started on 10 September 2003 by the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to give a very important message 'Suicides can be prevented.' The first year of celebrating the day was successful, so in 2004, they formally agreed to co-sponsor the event again, making it an annually recognized day. Every year, IASP organizes hundreds of programs in more than 60 countries to celebrate this day.

Significance of this day: This day is celebrated every year with the aim of creating awareness among people to avoid suicide and prevent it at any cost. Volunteers should discuss ways to prevent suicide with victims so that the frustration they have towards life is reduced. And no one should lose their life.
