New Delhi: PM Modi's cabinet has been expanded. Mansukh Mandaviya has been appointed as the new Health Minister of the country in place of Dr. Harsh Vardhan. The global epidemic is a major step in Mansukh Mandaviya's becoming health minister during the Corona period. The health ministry has reportedly snatched Mansukh from Dr. Harsh Vardhan and given it to Mansukh Mandaviya due to the devastation caused by the second wave of coronavirus infection. Mansukh will also hold charge of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

Harsh Vardhan himself was a doctor and took charge of the Health Ministry as well as the Ministry of Science and Technology, he worked day and night during the Corona epidemic and then the country worked to develop the vaccine. However, many of his comments in the midst of the corona crisis were described by critics as insensitive and unaware of ground reality. Even then, Dr. Harsh Vardhan has been removed from the health ministry and Mandaviya has been given this responsibility, so let us know who is Mansukh Mandaviya in whose hands PM Modi has entrusted the responsibility of health ministry in such a critical time. Mansukh Laxmanbhai Mandaviya is a Rajya Sabha MP. He worked on the State Executive Committee of ABVP in his youth. He became the youngest MLA from the 2002 Palitana constituency.  Earlier, he had served as chairman of Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation Limited. He had embarked on his political journey as a member of the All India Students' Council (ABVP), the student wing of the RSS, before joining the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the BJP.

BJP leader Mansukh Mandaviya from the Saurashtra region of Gujarat has been an important young face in the Modi government at the Centre since 2016. He was first given the post of Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Chemicals and Fertilizers in the Union Cabinet on 5th July 2016.  On May 30, 2019, he was again given independent charge of ports, shipping, and waterways as Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers. Born on July 1, 1972 in Hanol village under Bhavnagar district to a farmer family, Mandaviya was first elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2012 and re-elected in 2018. As Union Minister, he is credited with providing more than 850 medicines at affordable rates and setting up more than 5,100 Jan Aushadhi Stores to reduce the cost of heart stents and knee transplants. He was awarded by the UNICEF for selling 10 crore sanitary pads made of oxo-biodegradable technology at a very low price using a range of Jan Aushadhi Kendras to contribute to women's menstrual hygiene.

Mandaviya, a post-graduate degree in political science from Bhavnagar University, is also known for organizing long padayatra (foot marches) in which he performed two padayatras as an MLA to spread awareness about the dangers of girls' education and intoxication. Given his organizational skills, he was appointed the youngest secretary of the state BJP in 2013 and general secretary in 2014. It remains to be seen how well Mansukh Mandaviya discharges the responsibility of the Union Health Minister.
