Every year, April 21 is celebrated as National People's Day. This day is dedicated to those public servants who work for the progress of the country, as well as play their important role in policymaking. It is not so easy to put into words the contribution of civil servants, so every year this day has been dedicated to civil servants also. They are also honoured on this day for their commendable work.

History of National Civil Service Day: The All India Services were inaugurated by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on April 21. At The Metcalfe House in Delhi, he also gave a speech to civil servants on the spirit of doing good to the national service, leaving behind past experiences. On this day, he also addressed the civil servants as the steel frame of the country. On this day in 2006, a huge ceremony has been organized for the civil servants. Since then, April 21 has been celebrated as national public service day every year.

This is how National Public Service Day is celebrated: On the occasion of National Public Service Day, central and state government officials are also honoured for the extraordinary work done by them throughout the year.
