All-rounder cricketer Ben Stokes made a significant contribution to winning England's first World Cup on 14 July 2019 last year. England won the World Cup for the first time by defeating New Zealand on the basis of the controversial boundary counting rules on this day last year. A new book related to England's World Cup victory has revealed that Stokes took a break to relieve himself of tension before the Super Over in the final game against New Zealand.

On completion of one year of this historic achievement, this book has been mentioned in a book Morgan Men: The Inside Story of England Rise of Cricket World Cup: Humiliation to Glory. According to the book, before the super over, it was difficult to find a secluded spot in the stadium among the audience of about 27,000 thousand and with cameras on every side.

Ben Stokes was familiar with Lord's field as he played multiple times and knows the place very well. When Eoin Morgan was trying to reduce tension in England's dressing room, and when they were planning to make a strategy, then Stokes discovered moments of peace for himself somewhere. The book further states that he was drenched with sweat all over. He was batting at the crease for two hours and 27 minutes in intense moments, stokes went back to the dressing room in England to take a shower, and lit a cigarette for a few minutes to calm down.
