Denying every force that worked in the opposition of team India, the team skipper Virat Kohli said that he was truly proud of his squad and specially the bowlers that performed in the anti-spin condition of the pitches. He also mentioned that bowlers like R Ashwin and other teammates are capable of winning matches even if the surfaces of the pitch worked against.
"We knew before the series that people will start talking about pitches. We knew pitches will not be dry as monsoon is everywhere and especially in Kolkata, which is a newly-laid wicket. We knew our abilities and we knew we should be good enough to do well on any surface and against any team," Kohli told mediapersons at the post-match conference.
This performance, as said by kohli was the result that the spinners were not too much dependent on the Spin-friendly pitches. He said that the last two games were a delight to them and that is why the team was able to finish these two matches in Kolkata and Indore in four days only.
