Adelaide: Team India captain Virat Kohli on Wednesday has described himself as a 'representative of the new India', who is always ready to face new challenges with full expectations. Kohli said this in response to a statement by Greg Chappell, in which the former Australian captain said, "He (Kohli) is the most Australian-minded player among non-Australian cricketers".
On the eve of the first Test match against Australia, Kohli was questioned about his aggressive cricketing and combativeness, which was mentioned by Chappell, who was once the Indian coach. Chappell has the same mentality as Kohli in his country's cricketers. Kohli said, "I have been saying from the beginning that this is my own style. As I have a personality and character, I am representing the new India. I look at it this way. ''
He said, "There is no point in my mind about the Australian mentality or this kind of comparison. This team is associated with advancing India and from the first day, my personality has remained so." Kohli further said that a new India means those who do not get scared of facing any kind of challenge. He said, "New India accepts challenges and fills hope and positivity in it. We ensure that we are fully prepared for any kind of challenge we face. ''
