The CBI summoned state minister and Trinamool Congress General Secretary Partha Chatterjee on Friday in connection with the probe into the famous Saradha scam in West Bengal. A CBI official said Chatterjee has been asked to appear before the investigating officers at noon at the CBI office in the city.

"Yes, Chatterjee has been summoned to meet our officials for questioning in connection with our investigation into the Saradha scam. We are waiting for them.

There was an attempt to contact Chatterjee for his response, but no response was received. He is the education minister of the state and is in charge of legislative matters. Partha Chatterjee is a very close leader of Mamata Banerjee. It is known that many Trinamool leaders have been caught up in the case.
