Iconic coffee house reopened after three months, concrete arrangements made for customers

Kolkata: The Indian Coffee House has been a favorite haunt of coffee lovers for years in Kolkata, known as ' City of Joy'. Indian Coffee House reopened on Thursday after being closed for three months during the lockdown implemented to prevent the spread of Corona across the country.

Located in the busy College Street area opposite the Presidency University, the coffee house was closed on 20 March this year as part of preventive measures against the global pandemic Coronavirus. The coffee house was sanitized on Wednesday before it was opened back. The employees of Kolkata Municipal Corporation completed the work of sanitizing the coffee house by wearing PPE kit.

To ensure social distancing, the seating arrangement in the coffee house has been changed. With this, entry has been banned in the Balakni area. Thermal checking and hand sanitizers have been arranged at the gate of the coffee house. Tapan Kumar Pahari, secretary of the Indian Coffee Workers Co-operative Society Limited, which operates the coffee house, said, "We are disposable food plates, use and throw menu. Will use the card. We have no need to worry, I appeal to my regular visitors to come to the coffee house without any fear. But wearing a mask will be mandatory. No mask, no entry. "
