Kolkata: The teacher recruitment scam case in West Bengal is going on in the court. Hearing a petition related to the recruitment scam, the Calcutta High Court on Friday ordered the dismissal of the daughter of a minister in the state government. The Calcutta High Court in its order has also said that the daughter of a minister in the Mamata government should also return the amount received in the form of a salary. The court has ordered to refund the salary in two instalments. The order was passed by a single bench of the Calcutta High Court.

The Calcutta High Court has also asked for the dismissal of Ankita Adhikari, daughter of West Bengal Education Minister Paresh Adhikari. It has also been asked to return the salary in two instalments. The first instalment has to be returned before June 7. It is worth mentioning that the teacher recruitment scam is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The CBI had registered a case of cheating against Ankita Adhikari. Ankita Adhikari is accused of taking undue advantage of her father's post and putting her name in the merit table of the School Service Commission and getting a teacher's government job on its strength.

The Calcutta High Court's order comes at a time when Ankita's father and Education Minister of the West Bengal government, Paresh Adhikari, has been summoned by the CBI for questioning. West Bengal Education Minister Paresh Adhikari was questioned a day earlier, that is, on May 19. This is the second consecutive day that Paresh Adhikari has been summoned to the CBI office for questioning. State Industries Minister Partha Chatterjee is also to be questioned next week in the same case.
