In the men's singles event on Thursday of ongoing Korea Super Series, the player B. Sai Praneeth suffered a defeat against Chinese Tapie's Wang Tzu Wei. Due to which he has been knocked out of the ongoing Series.

He suffered to a 13-21, 24-26 defeat at the hands of seventh-seed Tzu Wei in a match that lasted for 40 minutes.

Meanwhile, in the men's doubles event, the Indian players Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty booked their place in the quarter-finals after defeating the team of Lee Jhe-Huei and Lee Yang of Chinese Taipei.

The Rio Olympic silver-medallist P.V. Sindhu advances in the quarter-finals of the women's singles after a 22-20, 21-17 win over Nitchaon Jindapol of Thailand in second round match that lasted for 42 minutes.To Book, her place in the last four Sindhu will face Minatsu Mitani of Japan.

Sameer Verma in another men's singles event progressed through to the last-eight with a 21-19, 21-13 win over Hong Kong's Wong Wing Ki Vincent in a clash that lasted for 50 minutes. Sameer will now square off with Wan Ho to make it to the next round.
