Kota: The tractor-trolley in which they were driving overturned after being hit by a truck on Tuesday morning, killing four people and injuring 13 others in Kota Rajsthan, police said. The tractor-trolley was taking about 18 people back to their homes in Hanuwatkheda village after attending a wedding in Batawda village of the area on Monday night.

"On Tuesday, about 6.30 a.m., the mishap occurred. From behind, a fast truck carrying 7-8 tractors collided with the tractor-trolley "Rajesh Khatana, SHO of the Baran Sadar Police Station, said.  Bhuribai (65), Chandrakala (55), Sushila (40), and Ramkaran Sain (60), all Hanuwatkheda village residents, were killed on the spot, while 13 others were injured, including women and children, he added. He said two of the critically injured patients were referred to a Kota hospital, while 11 others were treated at a Baran hospital. He stated that police had detained the truck driver and had filed a case against him under relevant provisions.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed his sorrow over the fatalities and wished the injured a speedy recovery. Gehlot took to Twitter to say, "My heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family members; may God grant them strength during this trying time, and may the departed souls rest in peace. Wishing the injured a fast recovery." 
Meanwhile, state mining minister and local MLA Pramod Jain Bhaya, Baran Superintendent of Police Kalyanmal Meena, and district collector Narendra Gupta paid a visit to the accident site and the hospital where the injured were being treated, said the SHO.
