Stock market fluctuates, Kotak Mahindra Bank shares rise up to 8%

Mumbai: The Indian stock market is witnessing ups and downs on the second trading day of the week i.e. Tuesday. In early trade, the Sensex and Nifty had a slight increase, but after some time, the selling started dominating. The Sensex gained 100 points to 40,200 points in half an hour of trading. Talking about the Nifty, it gained 30 points to 11,800 points.

Kotak Mahindra Bank shares were up 8% in early trade. Kotak Mahindra Bank's net profit jumped 26.7% to Rs 2,184.48 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year ended in September. Its net profit was Rs 1,724.48 crore in the September quarter last year. The bank said that its total income had increased to Rs 8,288.08 crore in the July-September quarter. During the same period last year, the total income was Rs 7,986.01 crore. During this period, the bank's recovery showed improvement. Meanwhile, Kotak Mahindra Bank has said that the main objective of its recently completed capital-raising process is the acquisition of companies and properties.

The Sensex closed down 540 points, or 1.33%, at 40,145.50 on the first trading day of the week. Talking about the Nifty, it fell by 162.60 points, or 1.36%, to 11,767.75 points. Bajaj Auto was the biggest loser among the Sensex stocks. It registered a decline of 6.10%.
