Krunal Pandya, who made his debut in Pune a night ago, is celebrating his birthday today. On this day i.e. 24th, March 1991 was born. Krunal, who created history in his debut ODI against England, appeared emotional both before and after the match. He was missing his father, whom he has lost some time ago. After the victory, he dedicated this innings to his father.
On January 16 last year, Krunal and Hardik lost their father. Himanshu Pandya lost his life due to a heart attack early in the morning. On hearing the news of the father's demise, a mountain of sorrow was broken over both the cricketers. The father's struggles were also rewarded when both the brothers were selected in the IPL. Pandya may be famous for his style statement, bindaas and luxurious lifestyle today, but once upon a time this player has also seen very difficult times in life.
The Gujarat all-rounder got recognition from the IPL and as soon as he got an opportunity at the international level, he grabbed it with both hands. Krunal had already made his debut in the T-20 team, now he got a chance in one-dayers, which he capitalised on. Even before Krunal, who was able to play a wisp inning along with spin bowling, younger brother Hardik managed to make his place in the team and is on the list of the world's best all-rounders who are active.
Krunal-Hardik's father Himanshu Pandya used to run a finance business in Surat, Gujarat. They had to shut it down in 1998 and the entire family had shifted to Baroda again. Himanshu Pandya was a big cricket junkie and he used to take his two sons (to show the match). It was from here that Hardik and Krunal got a desire to become cricketers. Despite the financial condition of the house not being good, Himanshu sent his sons to the Kiran More Cricket Academy in Baroda, from where the journey of both of them becoming cricketers began.
