Hubli (Karnataka) [India], Jan. 06 (NT): Karnataka Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy has blamed political organizations far-reaching Islamist group Popular Front of India (PFI), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and other right-wing organizations for upsetting harmony in the whole state.

"Political organizations or those like PFI, RSS, Sri Ram Sena should work to maintain harmony in society but these all are involved in disturbing harmony here," Reddy made a statement in media meet here on Friday (as quoted by ANI), a day after a Hindu activist, Deepak Rao, was allegedly put to death in Mangaluru.

As per reports, taking exception to Reddy's announcement about the nexus between PFI and BJP, the ruling party's state president B S Yeddyurappa yesterday challenged the minister to provide evidence about his charges in 24 hours.

Yeddyurappa also discharged the allegations that three leaders of BJP Minorities Morcha were mixed up in Rao's murder, alleging that the charges were false, not real and politically provoked.

The state government has declared Rs. 10 lakh compensation to the family of the activist. (NT)
