On Monday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishvas wrote to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley seeking for an apology as well as the withdrawal of the civil defamation case filed by the minister against him.

According to the reports from ANI, for the relief to the poet-turned-politician Jaitley's lawyer, Manik Dogra said that they have accepted the apology form Kumar Vishvas.

After Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and four other AAP leaders including Raghav Chadha, Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh and Deepak Bajpai had tendered an unequivocal apology to Jaitley, then Vishwas was the only one against whom the defamation suit remained.

Earlier, the Finance Minister has registered two defamation cases of Rs 10 crore against Kejriwal and his fellow leaders. They all had affirmed financial violations in the Delhi and District Cricket Association when Jaitley was the president in Delhi.

In April 2018, Arvind Kejriwal and AAP leader Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and Ashutosh, on Monday, in a joint letter, apologised to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in connection with the statements which were made against him.

The letter from Arvid Kejriwal reads, "Therefore, I unequivocally withdraw all the allegations made by me in a question whether made in print, electronic or social media against you. I offer my sincere apology to you and your family members for any harm caused to your reputation as a consequence of my allegation,".
