Kuwait imposes new restrictions to curb the spread of COVID-19

Kuwait's Center for Government Communication announced new restrictions on Monday to combat the spread of COVID-19.

Kuwait will put a curb on all social gatherings in closed areas from Jan. 9 to Feb. 28, according to a government order, the centre stated. The decision will be reconsidered in light of the current epidemiological condition, according to the statement.

Meanwhile, beginning January 4, all arriving tourists must present a PCR certificate with a negative result obtained at least 72 hours before to their flight's departure schedule. Kuwait reported 982 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, raising its tally of infections to 419,314. The death toll from the virus remained at 2,468, while the tally of recoveries rose by 171 to 412,073.
