KV Chowdary ends term; Sharad Kumar made interim Chief Vigilance Commissioner

New Delhi: Vigilance Commissioner Sharad Kumar has been made interim Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC). Kumar will continue to hold the post till he chooses a new CVC of the selection committee led by PM Narendra Modi. CVC. K.V.  Chowdary's term was completed on Sunday. That's where vigilance Commissioner measure equal to 1/6 inch. Bhasin's tenure ended on Monday.

An order issued by the Ministry of Personnel said that Kumar has been authorised to act as a CVC till the appointment of a new CVC. Kumar is a vigilance commissioner. Kumar, a former head of the National Investigation Agency, the Anti-terrorism investigation Agency, took over as vigilance commissioner on June 12 last year. His tenure in the Central Vigilance Commission will end in October next year after the completion of the age of 65 years.

Chowdaryand Bhasin is credited with bringing some systemic changes in the CVC to deal with corruption. Chowdary was also the chairman of the Central Board of Direct tax (CBDT). Chaudhary, during his tenure in the CVC, ensured that the time taken by the Commission to address the complaints of bribery should be reduced. He also started a monthly lecture for the Chief Vigilance Officers (CVO).
