New Delhi: After the Centre abrogation of  Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh has become one of the main targets of the Central Government. The Centre has also expressed its intention to make Ladakh a separate Union Territory. The Central Government is now gearing up for the development of this region away from the mainland of the country. The Centre has planned to identify 80 per cent of the tribal population of the state in the country and the world and make them industrialists with their identity and reach the world market.

For the first time, the Adi Mahotsav and the Forest Money Scheme are being organised in a big way. It is being organised by the Union Tribal Ministry through Trifed. The inauguration of the ceremony will be attended by Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik on Saturday and Tribal Minister Ajrun Munda will be present on the occasion. Home Minister Amit Shah, who has passed the bill from Parliament to give the status of Union Territory to Leh Ladakh, has sent his best wishes for the Adi Festival. The Adi Festival will run from 17th to 25th August.

Praveen Krishna, MD, Trifet, said that this is the first time that such a big event is being organised for the tribals of Leh Ladakh and the tricks to connect them with the world market will be taught while retaining their unique features and their forest production will be transported to the country and the world market. । About 200 tribals from 20 states will participate in the event.

Besides, the tribals of Ladakh will also present their belongings and artistic items. In order to bring the tribal art abroad and protect their art, the Tribal Ministry organizes this adi Mahotsav in association with the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED). Ladakh has long been demanding separation from Kashmir.
