Lahore: Lahore accountability court granted relief to former PM Nawaz Sharif's petition. The next hearing of the case will be on 28 February. In this petition, Sharif sought exemption from appearance in the court. Chaudhary sugar mill case is going on in the court against Nawaz Sharif. Addressing the media on Friday, Nawaz's lawyer Amjad Parvez said that a new medical certificate has been submitted in the court.

The lawyer further said, "Nawaz Sharif's health is being monitored. He will undergo a medical examination in the last week of February." The lawyer said that in the context of the procedures laid down, Nawaz Sharif is not well fit to travel to Pakistan and only after his health is correct will he be able to go to court for hearing in the case. After reviewing the medical certificate, the court exempted the former PM from appearing before it and adjourned the hearing till 28 February.

Earlier in January, the Punjab province government rejected Nawaz's medical report, saying that it had been prepared from a private doctor in Britain, instead of the General Physician. Nawaz, who was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment, was granted bail and later granted bail, allowing him to go abroad for proper treatment.
